Quality Technician

Key Responsibilities of the Position
• Complete dimensional, visual and functional lot release on incoming and outgoing product in accordance with sampling plans and take action in accordance to documented procedures when potential quality problems are identified
• Analytical testing, includes testing to determine % Solids utilizing gravimetric methods.
• Utilizing aseptic techniques to avoid contamination of in-process materials.
• Utilizes precision pipettes, graduated cylinders, and other types of basic lab equipment to precisely measure fluids for testing/solution preparation.
• Chemistry lab practices for preparation of hazardous, volatile solutions in a fume hood environment.
• Control and properly document non-conforming product
• Coordinate, perform and maintain PPC calibration procedures
• Provide quality systems training and assistance to PPC employees in quality decisions and measurement techniques
• Complete capability studies and gage R&R analysis
• Prepare appropriate inspection records and measurement reports
• Identify and recommend continual improvement opportunities for quality systems
• Keep work area clean.
• Report incidents and injuries to team leader/manager immediately.
• Recognize close-call incidents and safety hazards and take action to eliminate them.
• Use equipment properly and follow the safety features/operating procedures.
• Wear applicable personal protective equipment.
• Follow applicable safety, quality, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures.
• Actively participate in continual improvement, corrective action, and customer satisfaction.




Required Qualifications

Education / Experience
• Technical degree in related field, or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Entry level/college level Chemistry Lab Experience is preferred.
• Familiar with FTIR and Fluorospectrometer analyzers preferred.
• 2-3 years quality related experience

Skills / Competencies
• ASQ certification or equivalent experience (CQT)
• Knowledge and experience working in a cGMP environment.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
• Ability to apply SPC (Statistical Process Control)
• Can not be color blind; must be able to distinguish different colors
